Healthcare that is proactive, instead of reactive, gives the patient the opportunity and the responsibility to become more involved in their own health. The ultimate goal will be to shape preventive and diagnostic care to match each person’s unique characteristics.

The Simulation is designed to model the system for the purpose of learning from the interactions between the players as they implement the reforms of the coming years. It will be ‘played out’ by invited key people working in Australia’s healthcare system, people working in the government, clinicians, health managers, policy shapers, journalists and others. They will enact realistic scenarios and so experience many of the dynamics of the new system.
