PCEHR registrations are already at 250,000 and Department of Health and Ageing Deputy Secretary Rosemary Huxtable told tonight’s meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs that the government should get close to the stated aim of 500,000 registrations by the end of this month. NEHTA has identified the technical glitch which lead to the authority halting implementation of primary care software at PCEHR Wave 2 sites earlier this year. Speaking at Senate Estimates, NEHTA chief Peter Fleming said the fault was identified as located in one of the Clinical Document Architecture implementation guides. The guides have since been revised. Mr Fleming told Estimates NEHTA is internally testing the revised guides prior to restarting the trial site process.
